This chair shares original and critical insights on social, economic, political and historical problems in Belgium, Europe and the world. Every year in May, on the occasion of Rerum Novarum, a public lecture is organised.

About P.W. Segers

The chair was established in honour of Paul-Willem Segers, a prominent politician, social leader of the Christian Workers Movement and Minister of State (1900-1983). Segers was an influential figure in the development of social and economic politics in Belgium and was known for his commitment to social justice and improving the living conditions of workers and their families.
