Shared bikes

Other shared bike options include Blue-bike, Donkey Republic and Cargoroo.

By public transport

Train
Antwerp Central Station is approximately a 15-minute walk away.
Renting a bike or e-step at the station with one of the sharing systems will reduce this travel time to about 5 minutes.
Plan your journey from station to station with the NMBS route planner.
Bus & tram
Bus 17 stops at the Paardenmarkt (stop Hessenbrug).
Tram 7 stops short of Keizerstraat.
Tram 11 stops at Lange Nieuwstraat (stop Sint Jacob). Note: This route is suspended due to road works. The line will be back in service in the course of 2025.
Both Rooseveltplaats and Groenplaats are about a ten-minute walk away. These are hubs for lots of bus and tram lines.
Plan your route and check the timetable on the website of De Lijn.
Waterbus
Did you know that Antwerp also has a water bus? It connects the city centre with nearby villages.
By car

In Antwerp city centre, it’s recommended to travel by public transport, on foot or by bike. Are you still coming by car? Keep the following in mind:
Roadworks and events
Check in advance if there are any roadworks or events on your route: www.slimnaarantwerpen.be.
Park & Rides
Along several Antwerp approaches there are P+Rs where you can park cheaply or for free. Here you can easily change to bus or tram, or hop on your (folding) bike.
Low-emission zone
Antwerp city centre and part of the Left Bank are part of a low-emission zone: the most emitting vehicles are not allowed to enter the city.
Residential area
The area around the City Campus is a residential zone. The maximum speed is 20 km/hour. Pedestrians can use the full width of the road.
Taxi
In Antwerp, you can also use a taxi service.
Parking
Keep in mind that visitors are no longer allowed to park on the street. If you don’t live in Antwerp, you will have to use one of the paid public car parks.
