Does one learn how to read at school?

On May 30th 2018, UCSIA organized the fourth conference on education policy. This year’s topic was “Dutch Language Education Today: Does One Learn How to Read at School?”. Our education policy series attempts an exchange between academic research and professional experience on current issues in education policy. The audience consisted of fifty attendees with a mixed professional background: language teachers, educational mentors, headmasters, board members, policy makers, researchers and publishers of school books. The programme was created in collaboration with Jordi Casteleyn, lecturer at the Antwerp School of Education.
