ELP Graduation Spring 2022
Thursday 30 June 2022
The European Leadership Programme, an initiative of the Jesuit European Social Centre, offers fellowships to 15 master students per semester to develop their leadership skills in European policy and advocacy. A new call for applications has been launched!
The programme’s aim is to help reform the spiritual, social and political life in Europe, reorienting it towards a quest for the common good, in line with the long Jesuit tradition in forming leaders to change the world.
UCSIA supports the programme by hosting the academic paper presentation session before a jury at the University of Antwerp, by co-organizing the graduation ceremony and offering a traineeship to one of the fellows. Our new fellow is Divin-Luc Bikubanya, a researcher in just labour conditions in the informal mining sector in Congo.
For this seventh graduation ceremony Bea Cantillon, President of the Board of Directors of UCSIA and Professor of Social Policy at the University of Antwerp, will present the keynote address.
Bea Cantillon is a Full Professor of Social Policy at the University of Antwerp, as well as a member of the Herman Deleeck Centre for Social Policy. She conducts research on contemporary issues such as poverty, social policy and social security and advises the Belgian government on subjects such as social security and pensions system reform.
Applications for the European Leadership Programme are open!
The ELP is a fantastic opportunity for young professionals and leaders in Brussels to gain experience in politics, to be part of a community and develop professional skills to become a better leader. It includes private conversations with high level speakers and leaders and a volunteer experience in marginalised communities in Brussels.
