Service-Learning is a form of education in which students learn and grow through civic engagement. UCSIA coordinates the Flemish Network for Service-Learning in Higher Education, which links knowledge and practical experiences.

The Flemish Network for Service-Learning in Higher Education brings together institutions, teachers and researchers who are committed to service-learning: an educational method in which academic knowledge is linked to social engagement.

The network facilitates exchange, co-creation and knowledge sharing around service-learning projects in Flanders.

Co-creation in Service-Learning

On Friday 21 February 2025, the Flemish Network for Service-Learning in Higher Education - of which UCSIA is coordinator - is organising a day full of inspiration and exchange. Johan De Wilde, pedagogue, researcher and coordinator of MyCompass (Odisee Hogeschool), will give a fascinating keynote lecture. In addition, several service-learning professionals will present their project or practical example in which co-creation plays a key role.
