Activities
Each year, the academic chair delves into a pressing societal issue. In this context, it organizes one or more activities, ranging from public lectures and roundtable discussions to seminars for master’s and doctoral students.
In the past
In the past, we have organized, among other things:
- Public lecture and seminar with Dr. Anatol Lieven, Director of the Eurasia Program at the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft
- Roundtable discussion inspired by Pax Christi’s ‘Manifesto for Peace’
- Roundtable discussion: ‘A new agenda for peace’. On conflict, climate and a new security structure

The UCSIA Chair for Peace is an initiative of UCSIA, in close collaboration with the Department of Political Science at the University of Antwerp. A steering committee shapes the programme and guides the project.
