Eco-Prosperity
webinar in Dutch on 28 September 2020
If the status quo remains unchanged, there will be a huge climate crisis. The transition to a green economy will not be effortless. The big question is: is there a trade-off between sustainability and economic welfare?
On 18 June, 33 women signed a letter in De Morgen. Their dream: eco-prosperity, ecologically responsible welfare. They discard a fundamental trade-off and claim that it is possible to reconcile ecology and economy. They suggest seven lines of thinking that may be a source of inspiration in designing a sustainable, vibrant society.
Will a sustainable economy cost us prosperity, or will sustainability be profitable enough? How can the corona crisis help us to find answers? What could the private sector and healthcare do? And how can the government support eco-prosperity?
Arnoud De Meyer (professor at the Singapore Management University) will give an introduction, as creator of the concept ‘eco-prosperity’. Christ’l Joris (president of ETAP Lighting) and Cathy Berx (governor of Antwerp) will discuss these themes with each other and interact with the digital audience.
This event will be in Dutch.
