The European Pillar of Social Rights

The former Juncker commission presented the European Pillar of Social Rights, comprising 20 rights and principles regarding equal opportunities and access to the labour market, fair working conditions and social protection and inclusion. The current von der Leyen commission builds on this pillar, announcing an action plan to implement the EPSR with three key targets. At a recent summit in Porto, Member State leaders endorsed this plan.

But what is the real-world impact of this pillar? How does it change the lives of European citizens, and Belgian citizens in particular? What can we expect from the action plan to implement the pillar?

In this webinar, European Parliament Member Cindy Franssen will introduce us to the Pillar of Social Rights. Anne Van Lancker, chair of Decenniumdoelen, will reflect on the potential of the pillar in the Belgian context.
